Race Course

The ARTIEM Half Menorca starts with a swim from Fornells Bay. After completing a circular route and returning to the start, the cycling stage begins, departing from Fornells to Es Mercadal, along Camí d’en Kane, and back to the start/finish line.

The running segment goes from Fornells to Ses Salines and back, including the climb to the Fornells tower.

Swimming in open water requires great effort, but the spectacular sunrise over Menorca as athletes take their first strokes makes it all worthwhile!

The most challenging cycling sections include a maximum slope of 9.6% and an almost 50-meter climb to the Fornells tower, testing your endurance and determination.

Essential Gear for ARTIEM Half Menorca

Mandatory equipment:

  • Swimming cap and certified cycling helmet

  • Race bibs and identification provided by the organization

You are free to choose what else to pack for the race.

Tip: check the weather forecast to adjust your gear for each stage. Menorca’s weather can be unpredictable!

Basic Tips to Succeed

Training, consistency, and physical and mental effort will push you to the limit. Follow these tips to cross the finish line at your best:

Hydration

Drink water and isotonic drinks before, during, and after the race. Fluid loss increases in heat, so stay hydrated. In triathlon, it’s recommended to drink every 20 minutes.

Proper Gear

Wear clothing suited to the weather. Breathable fabrics, light colors, caps, and sunscreen protect you from the sun and help ventilation.

Listen to Your Body

If you feel dizzy or weak, stop and find shade. Remember the golden rule: hydration, hydration, and more hydration.

Prior Rest

Use the days before the race to rest, avoid heavy meals, and limit sun exposure.

Cooling Down

Wet your skin and head during the race to lower body temperature. Studies suggest it improves performance. A soaked cap can make a difference.

Following these tips ensures a memorable and enjoyable ARTIEM Half Menorca experience.
